Leigh Scott & Mark Cohen ~ Focal Pointers
-
We are Leigh Scott and Mark Cohen, a married couple who created Focal Pointers as a joint venture. We are avid outdoor adventurers who enjoy landscape and wildlife photography. Our Canon cameras and lenses are an essential part of our outdoor gear, just as important as sturdy boots and a pair of trekking poles. As backcountry explorers, we are able to capture wide-angle views of majestic, snow-capped peaks, bordered by aquamarine lakes; delicate petals of colorful wildflowers, lining the edge of the trail as it winds beneath a verdant forest canopy; and misty mountaintops outlined by the sun’s rays following an afternoon thunderstorm.
We often plan our travel around photography, frequently rising in the middle of the night to be in the right spot when the sun peeks up over a mountain ridge and bathes the valleys in golden hues. Our objective is to capture scenes that evoke emotions, tell stories, and transport the viewer to national parks, alpine trails, rocky cliffs, historic ruins, and coastal villages.

We are also co-founders of a nonprofit, philanthropic organization called the Healthier, Greener, Kinder Foundation. The purpose of our nonprofit is to make small grants for innovative projects that will make the world a better place. Proceeds from the sales of our photography are donated to the Foundation, thereby enabling us to give out more grants.
We have recently moved to the Maryland countryside, and we are busy exploring the scenic area around our new home -- with cameras in hand. Follow us on Instagram (focalpointersllc) to see the photos from our explorations in real time. Our work is available at the Foundry Art Market in Chambersburg, PA, and on the Valley Craft Network Studio Tour in Maryland in November.
